Another 14er's finisher- Okie from Oklahoma

Postby dzeroski » Mon Jul 31, 2006 5:32 pm

I like to thank my climbing partner (-Matt Sherman out of Pueblo) for helping me to finish my 14ers with Eolus on 7-29-06.After 3 years of hitting them hard (base of out Mt Crested Butte doing the summer),I finish the last (3)- Windom-Sunlight-Eolus-chase off summit by thunderstorm- in little over 9 hours total.
Next goal is start leading trips next year.

Congrats! You have made quite an accomplishment after finishing those three peaks in one day - in that weather! We were some of the others on the train that day and were quite glad it was a nice hike out.

Best,

Dan,

Congrats to you, too! We didn't know it at the time, but we finished a day apart from one another. Glad you guys made it out before that t-storm rolled in! That catwalk would have been a bad place to be caught in an electric storm. Congratulations again, and good luck with your future adventures!

Hey dzeroski - congrats on the finish. My brother and I summitted Eolus that morning too, we spoke briefly while you were heading up towards the lower ramp, we were headed down. Good job.

Eolus

I was glad to get off of Eolus by time the thunderstorms hit. I debated to go or not to summit. That why we were running down the mountain.

Did you make it up to North Aeolus? Sounds like you were run off of Aeolus by the storms.

I hope your buddy who stayed in camp was OK, he was struggling as we hiked in with you guys. You said he stayed in camp that morning because he didn't sleep. maybe he went fishing/ he had his pole.
