Hoosier Pass or other no-ski options

Post by hvolmer »

I'm considering a hike in the next week, but I don't have ski gear (I really should). Would North Star or Hoosier Ridge be do-able in shoes, or maybe with minimal snowshoes?

I was also considering is Dyer from Leadville side, which is suspect is not a good choice.

I'm itching to get moving this year. Any other suggestions are welcome. Sawatch and east.

Thanks, Heath

Anything 10,000' or less should be pretty good. Think outside the box. :)

I did Hoosier Ridge and one of the Reds earlier this winter and they were both doable without skis. Only a little snowshoe action was needed above tree line. Wind scours the rest!
