Square Top Conditions

Post by justiner »

Anyone have recent reports on getting up Square Top? I'd like to try to hike w/o snowshoes starting as far up the road as possible up Square Top, then Argentine, etc, but didn't know how realistic that would be. I'd have a pretty heavy pack on me.

Not realistic. Take snowshoes.

I did it 10 days ago and besides going through the willows the ridge line are all snow blown and hard packed snow. I used full crampons and ice axes up square top.
