Longs Peak 8/14

Postby Headwall5 » Tue Aug 09, 2011 11:19 am

Looking for a partner to climb Longs Peak early Sunday morning. I've climbed five 14ers and I'm in very good physical shape. I have a ride up there. Please contact me if your interested at gnarbroMTB@gmail.com

Oh, and also I did Tabeguache, Shavano, and Yale on the same day before just so you guys know I can handle 14 miles on a 14er because to do Tabeguache, Shavano, and Yale it was 18.5 miles.

1) The full moon is Friday, so it should help middle-of-night people. It will set behind the mountain itself near dawn.

2) This is probably the most popular weekend of the year being the August full moon. So you have LOTS of company for safety.
One August I counted about 800 people during my 9 hours hike. The most tricky route-finding is going through the correct keyhole
notch on the way back. Overshoot and it become difficult. Just watch the human-ant-trail on the mountain for the notch location.

Okay thanks for the info man. I'll go alone then if there's going to be a lot of people there.
