Climbing partner for Pyramid Thu 08/11

Postby LoveThisSite » Tue Aug 09, 2011 10:38 am

I'm looking for a climbing partner for Pyramid Peak, Thu 08/11. I'm an average speed hiker. I'll be driving in from Boulder. I could be convinced to backpack near Crater Lake, but plan right now is to just start from the trailhead at around 2am on Thu. Let me know if anyone is interested.. I'd prefer not to do this alone (after seeing all the deaths recently).

I'm interested but can't committ to anything just yet. I'm an average speed hiker as well but have never done a 4. Do you use ropes, harness, helmet? Because I don't have any of that.

Ropes and harness are generally not needed for Pyramid. I don't plan to carry that. A helmet will be useful for safety (mainly for the last 1000 ft), given the loose rock in the Elks.

I can't do Thursday 8/11 but what about Saturday 8/13? I thought it might be worth it to ask. I'm definitely going on Saturday starting about 3:00 a.m. I'll sleep at my own house in New Castle and drive up to the trail head about 1:30 a.m.
