It was cool meeting everyone! MY first winter summit was a lot different than I expected, thanks for all the encouragement!

I'm working on the TR for it, I'll try to have it up later today
- A mountain is not a checkbox to be ticked
- Alpinism and mountaineering are not restricted to 14,000 foot mountains
- Judgment and experience are the two most important pieces of gear you own
- Being honest to yourself and others about your abilities is a characteristic of experienced climbers
- Courage cannot be bought at REI or carried with you in your rucksack

Sarcasm or not, it's not even funny to post something like this. Not at this time. Reported.

That was one fun climb. We did get lucky with the weather too.
Thanks to everyone that made this an other very successful January Quandary.

It was a lot of fun and the weather was agreeable. Having people in front and behind me on the trail gave me a feeling a security on my first Quandary trip too. Me and my friend hiked up with boards and snowboarded down. It was his first 14er and both of our first ski descents. I can say that wind wasn't much of an issue with our boards strapped to our backs, but the descent wasn't that great as the snow was packed hard until just before the tree line. We were both really happy to do it though and I'm looking forward to the next 14er group trip!

“There are two kinds of climbers: those who climb because their heart sings when they’re in the mountains, and all the rest.” - Alex Lowe

"There have been joys too great to describe in words, and there have been griefs upon which I cannot dare to dwell; and with those in mind I say, 'Climb if you will, but remember that courage and strength are nought without prudence, and that a momentary negligence may destroy the happiness of a lifetime. Do nothing in haste, look well to each step, and from the beginning think what may be the end.'" - Edward Whymper
