That's ... exactly what I've been asking for for years. I wish the screen came in a color e-ink, but I'd take it as it is. Now to ponder whether I want to get $249 together for it.

E-ink screens refresh slowly. You wouldnt use them for scrolling or video.
But they would be visible in sunlight. And their batteries last for days.

True that it's not good enough for video, but it certainly looks good enough to me for scrolling around maps:
