My wife works at UCCS. I will ask here about clubs/orgs outdoor related. Also will find out about space for 50 peeps or so. When are you thinking?

I've already reached out to Megan Powell, who handles requests for meeting space and whatnot. Let's not double our efforts, so if your wife can reach out to her we can try and coordinate this together.

I just asked her about it and she said the best thing might be to have a club sponsor the class. This would make it free, however the issue there is that having a club sponsor the event could limit it to just students. I will not double up on your request T. Let me know if I can help in another way.

Terry let me know if you need a hand. I'm also employed at UCCS, and have lots of connections in the geography department....they teach snow science etc., also promote a lot of outdoor clubs. If you hit a dead end let me know. I bet we can figure something out.

I'll try to keep an eye on this thread.

Cool, thanks, Ryan! Yeah, if you can have someone from the geography department (maybe Tom or Carole ;) ) contact Megan, that might cinch something for this event.

I'd certainly go if I could. I can't really do much to help with a venue though, other than mention that the local Grotto holds their meetings upstairs at Jack Quinn's . . .

I will attend in the Springs if I don't have any meetings that night.

This is quite helpful, thanks. Darin PM'd me about City Rock, which sounds like a good option if they have the space. Terry, thanks for contacting the fire stations (and elsewhere), we've used one before in Winter Park. Headed to Wyoming later today but I'll check this thread and follow up with some of you when I'm back and see what we can put together.

City Rock would be an awesome place to have it. I think they have the room for that amount of people towards the entrance. And it's less than 5 minutes from my house.

The REI system usually has something every week start next month. There were four different Avy topics.
