Dogs in the Hourglass??

As we started up the hourglass yesterday, we got hailed on by golfball to bowling ball sized rocks. I made several attempts to contact the people above and received no reply. After cowering in a safe zone for 40 minutes we realize there are 2 guys on the fixed line trying to cajole a dog down the hourglass. One guy finally carried the dog down holding on to the rope. They didnt seem overly concerned that they had almost killed us and I cant help but think that the dog or the leash it was attached to was somehow to blame. I love dogs more than most and we bring our dog on a lot of outings but this was just plain stupid imho. Needless to say I was pretty spooked and it was 1pm at 13500 so we reluctantly turned around for the second time in 2 years, dissapointing since its tracee's 2nd to last 14er.

wow bummer...amazing the dog had gotten up there in the first place, too bad the owners didn't have any common sense.

Wow...I feel bad for you guys getting turned around, and especially for the poor dog. "Dumbass" doesn't begin to cover the owners...

So since that dog used a rope, is he now considered a "mountaineer"?

I'm appalled at this story! There's NO way that dog should have trusted those ropes.

Dogs should stick to the Southwest ridge, where they belong.

Quick, someone call The Brotherhood of Lucky! Or are they still in L.A. on media tour?

You weren't spotting the dog?!?!

I tell you, the courtesy in our climbing community is no longer what it once was...
