I have to doubt that the dog minds as I think that if they, like humans, found the smell of feces offensive, they not sniif each others' butts to say hello, nor would they eat their own poop. I do agree that it shouldn't be around their neck however. Just carrying the bag must have been annoying for the poor dog.
