Hiked Democrat today. Steams have overran the road at some parts and there isn't access to the Kite Lake trailhead. You can park 2 miles below the trailhead and climb up. You need to find a way to cross a couple of streams to get to Kite Lake but once you do, the trails are fine. All snow melted by noon today at the summits

Anyone know the condition of Grays and Torreys? Planning to hike that tomorrow

Interesting map, and not to be missed is that one of the spots receiving the least amount of rain in the state was Independence Pass.

not first hand knowledge but speculating that the road will be washed over like to decalibron,
would recommend high clearance at minimum since the "rut" is probably back in the road in a serious manner and 4X wouldnt hurt with the clearance
What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - That's all I need the ashtray, the remote control, the paddle game, and this magazine, and the chair and I don't need one other thing, except my dog.
[Shithead growls at him]
I don't need my dog.

It's closed from 76 to 25, but that is not storm related.

Here we go again. Storm over Mt. Evans wilderness/West Jeffco. Runoff likely into Bear Creek and tributaries. Areas affected: Brookvale, Evergreen, Kittredge and Morrison. Severity dependent on rain totals.
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatever state I am, therewith to be content - Paul the Apostle.
Like it or not, I am a slow driver. Putt ... putt ... putt ...
