We drove from Lake City to Creede to Pagosa Springs July 5th

the area just east of Creede was still smoldering - lots of smoke but no large flames
there was a tent city for the firefighters along the main road and helicopters were working in the area. Up Wolf Creek pass to Pagosa Springs there was major burn areas on the east side of the pass that had been put out

the whole valley east of Creede was smokey and you could barely see the mountains

Silverton and Lake City were clear when we were up there the day before

I have been in Creede the last couple of days and there is very little (if any) smoke. Lots of rain the past couple days. SJ Ron :)

Postby jdorje » Thu Aug 15, 2013 3:42 pm's back. Could be dust but I doubt it.

I can only guess that this guy is the culprit, although his smoke really looks to be going a lot further north:

Woodsmoke in Lakewood - it's back!
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatever state I am, therewith to be content - Paul the Apostle.
Like it or not, I am a slow driver. Putt ... putt ... putt ...
Good day.
