Texting

Postby Dancesatmoonrise » Mon Aug 06, 2012 9:06 am

Hey, I'm pretty sure there's a way that one can text to someone's cell phone using email on a computer. I think there's a special domain that the wireless carrier uses for this purpose. Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks!

Follow up:
The link Fleetmack provided works to find the correct internet address for emailing a text message to a phone. Thanks, dude!

To determine the wireless carrier from the phone number, this link was helpful:

Much depends on what you are trying to do.

Google voice or many other "free text" sites can be faster for this. http://voice.google.com. AFAIK all of them require you to have a +1 (us/canada) number and will only send to +1 (us/canada) numbers, but you then don't have to worry about the carrier.
