Best "crazy" picture spots

Postby hvolmer » Wed Jul 17, 2013 3:07 pm

Where are some places for those "crazy" or vertigo-inducing shots - but not death-defying to obtain. For example, my self-portrait on the knife edge at Torreys - 12mm lens on Canon 7D (which I guess I will need to retake now that I once again have a full-frame camera :) ). I saw someone else's shot and decided that was my next route.

Regarding death-defying: I was comfortable taking my photo on Torreys' knife edge, given that I took eight or ten shots and reviewed them before continuing on - as comfortable as one can be with an enormous ridge of rock jammed into one's backside! I could handle a bit more scare.

And not necessarily just wide-angles. If there are "smash" shots with a long lens from a distance, that's cool too.

Thanks

No helicopter necessary, I was just standing on the summit as well.

The summit pitch of Wetterhorn looks cool too and is easy class 3 (when dry).

Outside of the Colorado box. I believe this is from Gaston Rebuffet's book.
