US 36 to re-open on 11/4

Postby DaveLanders » Wed Oct 30, 2013 7:47 pm

I just got an email from someone in Estes that US 36 from Lyons to Estes Park will re-open
on Monday, 11/4, at noon. Amazing job by all of the people working on fixing the roads.

I drove it to RMNP Saturday. The first quarter of it outside of Lyons had the most repairs. You have to avoid being distracted by all the destruction you see near the creek. Most parts are regular speed limit and few limited to 25. However, we got stck behind construction trucks much of the time. Still a lot of repairs on the side roads.

The Bear Lake road construction in RMNP appears to be nearly complete, save for some landscaping.

Thanks for the update. I've been looking to head that way and support the local businesses in Estes as well as get back to RMNP.

Bear Lake Road is open all the way to Bear Lake, by the way.
