Was up on the Dead Dog today, if you plan on doing that one I would try to get up there sooner than later

Did you take a look at the tuning fork? Is the snow melt out now?

Here is a shot of someone skiing it today. We dropped in shortly thereafter. I didn't see a direct line from the summit but I didn't look around for it either since a storm rolled in. We skied the ridge to get off the summit then down climbed. Plenty of snow in the line. Bring a 4wd with decent clearance and you can drive to the base. Makes it a pretty short day. A little over 3 hours car to car.

I can't get the photo to show up cause it says the dimensions aren't right

Anyone get a good look at Notchtop Couloir in RMNP over the weekend by any chance?

Slim pickings Ash-ish. We've had a hot summer up high with lots of mountain rain. The perma-snowfields will still be there so there is stuff to get after, but most of the classic routes are gone.

Additionally the end of August will become more of an alpine ice season, you might find the climbs to have become more technical snice climbs. Bring some screws!!

Navajo is still good as long as you avoid the huge black ice field that forms on the climbers left side, and any of the glaciers in RMNP..taylor, tyndall, andrews etc. Alot will be in steeper conditions and as a reminder those night time temps are dropping so expect some more technical conditions. You may have to take your tools for a walk, but going up in the Loch Vale area in RMNP should give you something to walk up to.

I might get up to Navajo this weekend, if I do I'll report back.

It's almost alpine ice season!!
