I really like that list. A lot of fun peaks on there and the full gamut from "so easy it shouldn't count" to "as hard as any 14er" to "probably not in my lifetime".

After next month (when I finish the Centennials), I'll focus my attentions towards the bi-centennials and working on 'The Grid.'
That should keep me busy for awhile. 8)

Hope you got as much gridding in as possible last year. Summer conditions from May into December.

List of Lakes To Jump In

Coldest so far is a toss up between Sloan Lake in San Juans and Iceberg Lake in Glacier NP. Slate (Gores), Gourd (IPW) and Balsam (San Juans) were the coolest, with good spots to hop in (as opposed to the arduous task of wading). Ice Lakes sure looks inviting....but its not.

No rhyme or reason on the climbing list; I just want to climb them. Or perhaps I should say there are various reasons for climbing most of them.

Shees, just compiling the list must have been exhausting.

Yes and no. Almost all of it was created from existing list that I've had for many years, minus the peaks that I have already completed. The hardest part was getting it down to ~500 peaks since there are actually more peaks that I want to climb than just those. Maybe someday I'll get close to finishing that list and I mainly created it to see if others have any mutual interest in some of the peaks.
I'm slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.

I know I'm a broken record on this list, but the ranked 5th class list in Colorado has probably the broadest cross section of any list of which I'm aware. Lowly 6K semi-desert peaks up to 13K' alpine test pieces like Lizard Head, Peak 15, etc. with every other altitude in between. Mesas, peaks, choss piles, spires, everything. Several with no published ascents, all of course 5th class via the easiest route. Challenging but, at least for the known ratings, not crazy hard (5.10b is the max so far...). Just an option for those not focused purely on altitude.

Here's an idea…

Susan Joy Paul writes this guidebook…she knows how to get these done!
TomPierce, Brian C, Dancesatmoonrise, etc. could be the climbers…
I'll come and take the pictures.

Ha! Nice idea, but Susan's working on three other lists and probably will be for the next year!

Maybe in 2015 :-D

Funny, Britt! Actually I approached one of the guidebook companies (I think it was Fixed Pin, one of the rock guide publishers?) who was soliciting for new guides and proposed that idea. They were very nice but said that (a) the market for that would be very limited (I'm shocked, I tell you, shocked! ) and (b) they thought the essence of adventure climbing was, well...adventure and that a person doing that would actually not want a guide. But if someone else wants to go for it, happy to help...just don't make me reclimb all those peaks!

Just finished the list of ranked 12er's in the LaSals this summer! Next list is ranked peaks of the Abajo's and the Henry's, maybe, I don't know, sounds good though! List of repeats of peaks in Waterton Canyon til I turn blue or climb every ridgeline, which ever comes 1st!

The Centennials if I ever make up my mind to do the rest of them.
