"Margins" on trip reports

Postby Dave B » Tue Aug 13, 2013 9:55 am

I noticed that in my recent trip report the text continues off the screen to the right so that you have to use the scroll bar to read the end of each line (or CTRL+- to zoom out in Firefox).

I also notice that none of the other recent TRs have this problem and the margins end at the end of my screen.

Did I make a dumb mistake to make this happen? How do I get the margins to match up with screen size?

Thanks!

Also, Bill, I'm guessing this is recent, but it's brilliant!

I'll take a look when I get home, but it could be a problem with the inserted line breaks near the top. try removing those and see if it fixes the problem.

Thanks for the response, Bill.

I removed the line breaks. Looks fine now, but I am on a much larger monitor now so not 100% sure it fixed it.

You could test it on the large monitor by just resizing your browser window down to something small. In Windows, try the "restore down" button on the upper right.

Again, brilliant. That worked.

Great! When I get a chance, I'll look into the problem with entering horizontal lines in the TR.

Not sure if this is the same issue but I have found some trip reports to be very poorly formatted, making them nigh unreadable on mobile. Which should be the easiest way to read!

Actual resolution screenshots:

The page width used for text wrapping is somehow much higher than the highest picture width (which is probably already too high for a good read). By the time I zoom out enough to see everything, the text is illegibly small.

Some convenient +font -font buttons might help, though that seems like a cop-out.

I'll take a look at that one.
