Can You Identify This Peak

Post by kuusk »

I spotted this hanging on the wall of a bathroom, at a tire place, in Fort Collins. Looks pretty awesome! I want to climb it, but I don't know where it is, or what it's called. Any ideas?

I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.

Yes, that is Thielsen. It is just north of Crater Lake in central Oregon. The trail is about 5 miles each way, and if I recall about 4000 feet of elevation; good day hike. It is a good trail in dry conditions up to the summit pinnacle. The summit is considered class 4, but is really more like class 3 and does not require a rope. There is only 1 route, though, really. It is typical cascade volcanic rock, and all the other "routes" are not considered safe.
