Ended up doing Argentine. Only a couple of inches to a dusting, pretty wind blasted and shallow on every mountain I could see. Hit a couple shin deep drifts. By noon everything below 13k was rapidly melting. There was a covering of a few inches down all the way to Peru Creek when I arrived at 8:30ish, entirely gone by noon. Don't think much of anything will be left in the Front Range in a couple days.

As promised, here's the report for La Plata: http://www.14ers.com/php14ers/peakstatu ... ecnum=7643" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Other observations from La Plata, and from the drive back to Boulder:

-Elbert and Massive are snow-free
-Rest of the Sawatch (e.g. Collegiates) looked like they have similar conditions to La Plata
-Elks, West Elks, and San Juans looked pretty white
-Tenmile, Mosquito, and Front Range near I-70 still held some snow on steep, shaded northerly aspects at high elevation, but didn't look like very much. All other aspects looked dry.

All in all things look pretty clear for the upcoming week unless you're planning to go to the Elks or San Juans.

Just drove 91/24/285 between Leadville and Salida. Sawatch is completely dry. West side of Tenmile/Mosquito has bits of snow that shouldn't affect hiking.

Front, Mosquito, Sawatch all dry on drive along 285 and over Cottonwood Pass today. Elks and San Juans have a sloppy dusting of snow on north and shady areas. Nothing problematic, unless a scramble route is in the shade.
