Oldest Finisher

Post by ColoradoEd »

What is the record for the oldest person starting and finishing all the 14'er's?
I guess the starting age would be the record.
I should plan on breaking this record, now that I am old.....

What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - That's all I need the ashtray, the remote control, the paddle game, and this magazine, and the chair and I don't need one other thing, except my dog.

This post reminds me of one of George Carlin's sayings. It goes something like, "Everyone talks about the first time they have sex; nobody seems to realize there's also a LAST time you'll have sex--and you never know when that is going to be."

Similarly, there's going to be a last 14er you summit, and you never know which one it is going to be. So enjoy every summit like it's your last. Yes, even Bross.

I met a guy near Snowmass Lake who was 74 years old. His wife was with him and told me he was just 13 peaks away from finishing all the 14ers... for the THIRD time. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name.

I read about a guy who started at 67 and finished on Capitol at 75.

I started at 32 and ended at 64.5.

You've aged quite a bit since I saw you on Blanca a few years ago..

The years have not been kind.
