FOUND!!! "stolen" tent at Kite Lake

Postby fromPDX17 » Fri Aug 01, 2008 5:56 pm

To the dude from Boulder who thought his tent was stolen - it actually blew away....and I have it for you.
Since I'm not a 14-er, I'm not going to be checking this site very ofte. Please email me at : akiram@twistonline.com
Please identify the make of the tent and your dog's name and when you were there....
thanks!

WOW!!

What a great post.

I usually feel pretty "let down" when I scan the posts on this site, but when I saw this one I just had to give it a bump.

the guy from Boulder was so disappointed...as were we...when he thought it was stolen. I just want to make sure his faith in fellow hikers, campers, etc. is restored.
Little did he know, his tent wasn't anchored and was blowing across the meadow and we saw it from the top of the first ridge...
Just hope he reads these!!

Good idea. Here's another bump. Was the dog with it by chance? #-o

I'll start the guessing with Fido, North Face and Friday 8-1-08.

sorry tylermacguire...guess again! at this point, the nice tent might just go to the wittiest response....or else i'll get myself a nice fly and use it!
and thanks - i hope that what comes around goes around and that all of the hikers, climbers, campers out there remember to have each others' backs.

and, luckily, the unnamed dog was not attached to the flying tent....he's still alive and kickin' it with the Dude from Boulder!

Was it 073108, a $20,000 tent with a dog named camillo tied to it?

Unless this was found just off the sumit of k2 I highly doubt it. TGC would never let his tent blow away.

$20,000 tent.... $50,000 platinum with diamond tent spikes

I would suggest you enjoy your new tent. But first go buy some stakes for it.
