A longer, but really easy one is San Luis Peak from Strewart Creek. It is a nice blend of wilderness, solitude, and the alpine summit with nice views from the top of Uncompahgre, Wetterhorn, and other San Juans.

I was hoping to save a Pikes hike for a work related function later this year. I'm keeping my eye on it though. I can see it from the couch and I'm waiting for the white stuff to disappear!

I agree with Layne.....Sherman. It's an easy hike with great views from the top. And you can do a longer hike from the first parking area (which is an easy hike up the road) or you can drive to the gate for a shorter one. It would be a good first 14er.
