Flat-lander coming to Aspen in July and would like to attempt a "easy" 14'er, picturesque.
Any recommendations for that area?
Thanks

Castle Peak, rated Class 2, is the least difficult of the 14ers on the Aspen side of Independence Pass. All of the other 14ers in the area are rated at least Class 3 and are not for beginners. Mt. Elbert and La Plata are on the east side of the Pass but it takes longer to get to their trailheads. Use this site for route information.

Sopris is a nice hike. Not a fourteener, its something like 12,995. Great views of the rest of the Elks
