14ers.com Members Summit Gasherbrum II

Post by astrobassman »

Huge congrats to Ryan Kushner (14ers name kushrocks) and Jeff Heiderer (14ers name Mickeys Grenade), and also Lee Jennings (Wyoming) and Endo Cui (Canada). Confirmed via twitter Kush made the summit of Gasherbrum II (8035m) on 7/26, and it notes two other Americans and a Canadian also topped out (I'm assuming its the rest of the team). Looks like they topped out with four others from other teams. Awesome job dudes! Wish I could have been there with you. Now get down safe.

Great job! I can't wait to read the trip report!
I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.

I am beyond excited right now for my friends. This is a tremendously huge accomplishment, that will honestly be lost on most. Succeeding on that mountain in the style they applied with a small team, all without a previous 8000er summit under their belt is amazing beyond words.

Honored to have been a small part of putting the trip together, and even more honored to be friends with such great dudes.

So. Damn. Proud. Boys. Get home safe.

That is truly awesome news, congrats Ryan (you must be happy beyond words, after having this on the top of your mind for years, you did it!)! Major props to the whole team, get down safe!

Meh, I won't really be impressed with Ryan until he finishes the 14ers...

Congrats and a safe descent to the entire team. Can't wait to hear more about it.

"There have been joys too great to describe in words, and there have been griefs upon which I cannot dare to dwell; and with those in mind I say, 'Climb if you will, but remember that courage and strength are nought without prudence, and that a momentary negligence may destroy the happiness of a lifetime. Do nothing in haste, look well to each step, and from the beginning think what may be the end.'" - Edward Whymper

That's pretty awesome. 8000m, that's like taller than a 14er.
