Re: Uganda questions

Post by Scott P »

Back in 1997, I climbed Mt Elgon from the Uganda side. It was a great trek, but my information will be out of date by now. I do have a summitpost page on the mountain. At the time the Rwensoris were closed for ¨security reasons¨, so we went to Mt Elgon. Budadiri was one of the friendliest places I have been. Overall, I found Uganda to be much more friendly than Kenya or Tanzania; perhaps because at the time it hadn´t been ¨spoiled¨ by tourists. It was however, a little more expensive than Kenya.

We travelled independently and by bus everywhere.
I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.
