Alan Arnette on Everest

Post by Alan Arnette »

Sorry for the self serving title but I am off to climb Everest as part of my 7 Summits for Alzheimer's: Memories are everything project. I have already summited Vinson in December and Aconcagua in January. I am climbing using the logistics of International Mountain Guides (IMG) with a Sherpa guide. I am posting frequent updates on my blog at http://www.alanarnette.com/blog. Denali is next in July.

Wow! Good luck, man. Safe returns!
Save a place for me up in the high country.
There's still space to breathe.

Best of luck... you're about the begin the adventure that nearly every climber I know has dreamed of at one point or another. Stay safe up there, and snap a few pictures for those of us who are still hanging out at half of your elevation :)

Sounds like a great cause! Good luck out there and be safe...
"I want to keep the mountains clean of racism, religion and politics. In the mountains this should play no role."

- Joe Stettner

"I haven't climbed Everest, skied to the poles, or sailed single-handed around the world. The goals I set out to accomplish aren't easily measured or quantified by world records or "firsts." The reasons I climb, and the climbs I do, are about more than distance or altitude, they are about breaking barriers within myself."
