It was probably that crappy North Carolina BBQ which pissed off the bear. The guy wouldn't have been hurt if he gave the bear real BBQ from KC.

A bear video with a better ending (couldn't figure out how to embed it though):

He shoulda smeared honey on his face so the cuddly bear could affectionately lick it off.
Bears love that.

'A Walk in the Woods" tells a story about a family spending a day at the Smoky Mountains. A bear happened to wander into their picnic area. This opportunity gave the mother the bright idea of pouring honey on her daughter's hand so the bear could lick it off...

...the bear chewed off the hand.

Your Florida is showing, Alaska.
I am unable to walk away from the mountain without climbing it. An unclimbed mountain tugs at my consciousness with the eternal weight of time itself. Until I've pressed my face into it's alpine winds, hugged it's ancient granite walls, and put it's weathered summit beneath my heal I'm unable to resist it's attraction.Knowing nature gives the mountain more time than she gives us adds urgency to the obsession. As has been said before; the mountain doesn't care.

It can wait forever. I cannot.

On the subject of bear encounters, this is one of the coolest I've ever seen.

That is good. But c'mon - 30 years? That would put you on the internet before Al Gore.
