Postby rainydayrenee » Fri May 24, 2013 8:59 am

Has anyone been up Bison in the last week and could enlighten the conditions right now? Snow? Clear? Muddy? Snowshoes or Microspikes? Thanks! :)

My friend went up two weeks ago and was amazed at the amount of snow. He turned back around treeline (didn't have snowshoes). He said the snow started near the trailhead. I would expect snow and mud.

This is for the Bison Peak in the Lost Creek Wilderness, just to clarify in case there are other Bison Peaks.

Don't forget the road construction: http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/psicc/news-events/?cid=STELPRDB5415503
OK this weekend, but after that getting to the Ute Creek trailhead is going to be a pain for most of the summer.
