I second the Cameron Pass area. There's also a few trails up Buckskin Road towards Donner Pass and Lookout Mountain. That area had good snow when we were up there a month ago. And you can never go wrong with Estes Park/RMNP.
Thanks for the ideas.. I think we will head to the Loch and Sky Pond.

I headed up that way yesterday. Up to the Loch the trail was well packed and snowshoes were not necessary (the same is true to Mills Lake). Beyond the Loch we did use snowshoes but we did not end up making it up to Sky Pond as we did not see a safe and appealing route to the upper part of the basin.
Thank you for that perspective. i called RMNP and heard the same thing. I guess it will be the Loch and Mills for us.
taking Glacier Creek back down from Mills Lake through the ice park makes a great loop. It's my favorite in winter. Of course, conditions will vary with the snow. A small sampling:
Sounds like you found some ideas...but in case you need a new one, I spent some time in Breckenridge this week. Had an absolute blast snowshoeing up the Spruce Lake trail in the fresh snow.
