I'm more of a coffee and scone guy. Patio's coffee is undrinkable, so I usually go to Cafe Dawn.

River's Edge (old Bongo Billys) has breakfast also if you don't want to eat on the highway.

Yep! No more Bongo's in BV, and River's Edge coffee is yuck at best! The lady running it is as about inviting as a turd in a punch bowl. Won 't ever go back.

Country Bounty has pretty good coffee. Their food is decent but a bit overpriced (as are most Salida restaurants). Haven't had breakfast there but based on their lunch I'd imagine biscuits and gravy would be a good choice.

There are a lot of cafes along highway 50 that look like they would be decent, but I haven't eaten at any of them.

I'm confused.. no more Bongo's in BV? Or no more Bongo's in Salida? Or both?
We did not think of the great open plains, the beautiful rolling hills, and winding streams... as "wild". Only to the white man was nature a "wilderness".

Bongo's in BV was renamed to Brown Dog Coffee Co.
I was curious so I googled it.
Since it's under the same owner, I'm sure it's still a good place to go. Coffee will be their own roasts. The article doesn't mention their menu though.

Yes Brown Dog. The coffee was horrible Lady running the place was as friendly as see my previous post. Don't know about Bongo's in Salida. Hopfully it's still there! "The River", is the best coffee I've EVER had.
