nice place to explore w/ new AT setup

Postby catullus » Sat Dec 22, 2012 12:27 pm

Hey all,

I'd like to get out somewhere tomorrow and play around on my first AT setup. I've taken it to the resort and have done some downhill and skinning with them, but I'd like to go somewhere for the day just to get out and explore and practice using the AT setup as a mode of transportation on mild up-and-down and flat terrain. Any suggestions? I'm looking for something similar to the loops around Bear Lake in RMNP, but not Bear Lake because I have explored that area ad nauseam.

The old Hidden Valley ski area at RMNP has some decent terrain. More advanced above Trail Ridge Road in bowls, and milder terrain below (equiv to greens and blues).
