Probably the worst obstacle would be a washed out bridge, leading to a dangerous river crossing. But as long as they are hiking cross country, they are not subject to road closures. If they can find an overland route into the park, they could still make it. We will have to look at the maps and see which bridges survived the flood. Even if 72 is washed out, they can hike north along 40, assuming the bridge north of Granby is still intact, and approach Long's Peak from the west. I wish them luck but more importantly, I hope the people who are cut off from civilization are safe, and I hope the people who are still unaccounted for are safe.
