Man, what a great storm!

If I am following Breck's snow reports and snow-stake cam correctly, it looks like they have received just about 28 inches thus far from the start of things Wednesday night. And more to come!

Believe it or not, E Chair was open just after 9am and the T-Bar also opened early. Then the 6 Chair opened to some serious powder. Windows, Doors, Needle's Eye, Mineshaft, Mine-Crotch... all deep this morning. That stupid EPIC email this morning drove a lot of people to Breck but it was easy to play the lift game and work around the crowds.

Certainly the best resort day I've had this year.

It's still snowing but it looks like the winds will be picking up tonight.

does peak 6 help to spread people out now? Sounds like patrol was on their game today, kudos to them, i'm sure they had their hands full.

Not really.

But I'll echo Bill's comments above. Breck was fantastic today. Skied Bell to Bell. Legs are feeling it.

bell to bell, that's the way to do it! None of this 3 runs and call it a day to get your 50 days in.

Chair 6 is made for days like today.
I am unable to walk away from the mountain without climbing it. An unclimbed mountain tugs at my consciousness with the eternal weight of time itself. Until I've pressed my face into it's alpine winds, hugged it's ancient granite walls, and put it's weathered summit beneath my heal I'm unable to resist it's attraction.Knowing nature gives the mountain more time than she gives us adds urgency to the obsession. As has been said before; the mountain doesn't care.

It can wait forever. I cannot.

Horseshoe was belly (sometime almost chest) deep. Runs under E Chair were the place to be. So many beards caked with snow and ice!
