Love to see all that green! Sure didn't seem like it would end up this way, given how the season started!
You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know. - Rene Daumal

Looking good, at least in northern Colorado.

I'm slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.

Considering the weather for the next week, that'll likely be the high-water mark (pun intended). Not bad after where we had been, though.

every year can't be average or above average, it's mathematically unpossible (I suppose we could keep getting more with climate change). We cry when it's below because we keep needing more.

19" at Cameron Pass last night. I'm not feeling very well, I better call in sick...
The mountains - whose summits reach or exceed arbitrary thresholds for elevation and prominence - are calling and I must go.

I'm really surprised at how it turned around so quickly in the San Juans - the first time I looked at the snowpack map earlier this season, the southwest corner was the only one above 90%. Then suddenly it was 65%, and when I looked yesterday it was 49%. Ouch...

Maybe the Best of Both Worlds from a Denver-centric point of view. We get enough drinking water in the north and an early hiking season in the south.
