The fam and friends are voting and spreading the word on facebook. Some of them have also gotten their second votes. CFI doesn't have to pass Tony Stewart, they only have to take the race into a gentle curve to the right.

Wow, this is more exciting to watch than the Puppy Bowl on Super Sunday. We have passed Tony Stewart and the Blue Knights Bugle Corpse and gunnin' for the Secular Students and the Manatees. The most connected non-profits are going to be the winners. Take a few minutes to personally ask friends. You can say something like " you know that b-day present you didn't get for me...here is how you can make it up to me" \:D/

I don't know... we're still trailing "Save the Manatee." How do you beat a manatee?

Grrr. Looks like we're falling away from the $50k level.

Thanks to everyone who voted; We really appreciate the help!

THANK YOU!

I'd estimate that 14ers.com members account for at least 2/3 of the voting which locked CFI into the $20,000 level. A special thanks to CFI Executive Directork, Lloyd Athearn, who spends most of his time raising funds for a great cause.

CFI is included in another, similar funding opportunity through Tom's of Maine. Voting is only available through Facebook and you can vote once a day through October 9th. With enough support, CFI could obtain a grant similar to the one we just locked through the Chase Giving campaign. That would be sweet!

To those who wished to run a smear campaign against rescue puppies and endangered manateees i say don't look a gift horse in the mouth (or any other orifice for that matter) At the end of the day a $20,000 is a nice gift and no matter how you slice it, it is what is it is. Based on my 2 votes and a handful of my friends voting who do not frequent this site, i think Bill's estimate of 2000 votes from 14ers.com is a bit inflated. :^o

Inflated? Well, let me give you more info... Just after my Tuesday, 9/11 email we received a flurry of 1,000 votes in just over 24 hours. Then, when I sent out my final email plea on Monday, 9/17, we went from 2,000 to nearly 3,000 in 24 hours. Those emails went out to nearly 30,000 registered 14ers.com users so getting 2,000 interested, even after Labor Day, wasn't a stretch at all. Additionally, I pasted the campaign info all over this site (including a larger banner on the home page) for the 17,000+ daily users to see.

Thanks for calling me a liar, though.

I'm glad CFI was able to earn 20K through FB voting but am dissapointed it didn't make the 50K mark, especially considering how 14ers.com members are already online anyway. Why do you think more people didn't vote? Is it because one had to use FB in order to participate?
At any rate, CFI is lucky to have you on the board Bill as your website is what carried most of the votes for CFI. Nice job! =D>
