I have to ask, fear is a bigger inhibitor to me than money or skills. Fear of extreme discomfort, injury or death. I have little doubt I would have the skills to climb Denali for example, but could not tolerate being cooped in a tent for days waiting out storms, or the extreme cold. That aside:

Katahdin
Cotopaxi, Chimborazo and/or Antisana
Longs, Maroon Bells, Redcloud,
Ben Nevis,
Mt Blanc,
Assiniboine, Robson,
Williamson (CA), Half Dome,
Pequeno Alpamayo,
Island Peak (Imja Tse), Gyachang Kang, Mt Kailas (if religion was no obstacle),
Nanda Devi, Mt Bona in AK (jn good weather)
Mt Shuksan

Oh crap , I'm just getting started and you limited me to 10.

I could also take the Sheryl Crow approach "It's not having what you want. It's wanting what you've got", I could list all 10 in the northeast USA. Fun thread though.

Kiefer, did you say top 10+?

Everything in the Himalaya's. Ultimate for me would be new routes on the bigger peaks (Rupal Face/ K2 West Face alpine style/Everest Fantasy Ridge) or going in winter when there is nobody around on some of the standard routes on the 8,000 meter peaks..To name a few of the coolest faces/routes besides those 8000 meter giants

Cerro Torre Ragni Route aka West Face Patagucci
Suila Grande new mixed route on west face Cordillera Huayuash, Peru
Grand Jorasses No Siesta Alps
Eiger NF Alps
North Twin North Face Alberta, Canada
Mount Alberta North Face Alberta, Canada
Mount Evans North Face Direct Direct Colorado
Mount Robson Emperor Face Jasper, Canada
White Pyramid Reality Bath Alberta, Canada
Denali Denali Diamond/Slovak Route Alaska
Latok I North Face Pakistan
The Ogre Pakistan
Spantik Golden Pillar Pakistan
etc.....

Don't know if I could pin it down to 10. Just so much more then just this list. The Canadian Rockies are bad ass!

Updated the list to include 250 peaks rather than the old top 20.

Wow, missed the Ice Axe debacle this summer. Glad to have gotten caught up :-D

Sunlight
Windom
Eolus
Crestone Peak
and Needle
Wilson
and Wilson
Pyramid
Capitol

and if for some strange reason, I get all of those done, I guess I'll go do Little Bear. Or just join a message board and say I climbed a bunch of 8000m junk. Leaving the molehills to you clowns.

Listed in no particular order:

Nalumasortoq and Ulamertorssuaq, Greenland
Fenris, Antarctica
Ulvetanna Peak, Antarctica
Denali (winter)
Mt. Foraker via the Infinite Spur
Mount Alberta, Canada
Mount Bryce, Canada
Cerro Torre
Trango Towers, Pakistan (probably Nameless Tower)

Now, I just need to learn how to climb mixed routes and get strong enough to send 5.12.

In the order of which they can be realistically obtained. The last 3 will probably not happen in this lifetime.
Hard to pin down to 10.

Mt Sir Donald, NW ridge, Canada
Ship Rock, NM
Titan Tower, UT
The Prow (winter), Kit Carson, CO
D7, The Diamond, CO
Artesonraju, Peru
Any 8000M peak except Everest or Cho Oyu.
Jirishanca, Peru
Nanga Parbat, Pakistan
Charcraraju (both summits), Peru

Cool thread. So many peaks, so little time. Off the cuff ...

Unrealistic:

1. Devil's Thumb North Face (solo; first ascent)
2. K2 (solo; first ascent buck nude)
3. Annapurna I (me leading Conrad Anker in winter)
4. Everest/Lhotse (quick 2-fer)
5. Half Dome (free solo, in a diaper, while being cheered on by Alex Honnold, Steph Davis, Beth Rodden, Chris Sharma, Dean Potter, Adam Ondra, Tommy Caldwell, the Huber brothers, and Moon Unit Zappa)
5a. Kilimanjaro (I summited Uhuru Peak in '92, but next time I wanna do it with Jamaican bobsledders, the Swedish cheerleading team, Diane Lane, and Sebastian Junger, who will write about both the epic climb and my love affair with Diane Lane)

Realistic:

1. Longs Peak (a storm turned me around at the top of the Trough in 2010)
2. Rainier
3. Ama Dablam (I trekked around it to and from Gokyo Ri in '95)
4. Denali
5. Matterhorn
5a. Eiger Nordwand (highly doubtful, but ya never know  )
The beast is in all of us. And so is the best.

Sounds like we need to put together a 14ers.com trip up there.

AWESOME thread idea!

Denali - Yeah.
Logan - I'd like to take Ed Viesturs; He wrote that he hasn't yet climbed it.
Vinson Massif - Antarctica would be sick!
Lohtse - IDK why I don't really care to climb Everest. But nobody really climbs this one. Typical Chad taste here.
Annapurna - It's Annapurna!
Chogori - This is the professional's mountain. Nobody guides this AFAIK. Also known as K2.
Ararat - I'd like to see Noah's ark if it's still there.
Any 8000m peak without oxygen. (I have asthma.)
