I voted for the Sawatch Range.

It's in my backyard and I enjoy exploring them.
It's a tough job, but someone has to photograph the mountain. www.MtPrinceton.org

You lucky dog! Buena Vista is one of my favorite towns in CO. Stayed there several days this summer. Can't wait to go back. The view of Princeton is awesome.
Seems like the times that I need a mountain the most are the times that I can not get to them.

San Juans - Whatever you want it is here.
- Rugged + Dramatic = Grenadiers, Needles, Sneffels Range, Cimarron / Turret Ridge, Wetterhorn
- Easy walk ups, Red mountains, Handies, Sunshine , Redcloud,
- Lakes , Ice lakes, Blue lakes, Clear lake, Columbine lake
- Waterfalls - everywhere (all around the sneffels range, Ouray, T-ride
- Remoteness
- Color - Red Mountains, the blowout area,
- Basins - Ice lake, yankee boy, American ..etc

2nd place, Elks or Sangres. Sangres look nice. I love the drive on the east side but I've never been in them. Elks , nice rugged peaks and color, in fact some of the peaks and ranges I "may" think are as scenic if not more than several parts of the San Juans (Raggeds are sweet, Capitol, Bells, Marcellina, all very cool) however as a whole, it does not have the variety, waterfalls, lakes and vegitation. The wildflowers in Ice Lake basin, near blue lakes, near black bear pass all blow away anything I've seen in the Elks. Much more vibrant , larger, etc. The waterfalls, far outdo the Elks as well.

Go San Juans!! :YY

ktimm pretty much summed up how I feel about the range.
Mountains cast spells on me - Why, because of the way Earth-heaps lie, should I be Chocked by joy mysteriously; stilled or drunken-gay? Why should a brown hill trail Tug at my feet to go? Why should a boggy swale Tune my heart to a nameless tale Mountain marshes know?

I'm going with the San Juans...with the Elks just ever so slightly behind. Living in Durango for 8 years, I suppose I'm partial though :P
